Generic top-level domain
Generic top-level domains (gTLDs) are one of the categories of top-level domains (TLDs) maintained by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) for use in the Domain Name System of the Internet. A top-level domain is the last label of every fully qualified domain name. They are called generic for historic reasons; initially, they were contrasted with country-specific TLDs in RFC 920.
The core group of generic top-level domains consists of the com, info, net, and org domains. In addition, the domains biz, name, and pro are also considered generic; however, these are designated as restricted, because registrations within them require proof of eligibility within the guidelines set for each.
Historically, the group of generic top-level domains included domains, created in the early development of the domain name system, that are now sponsored by designated agencies or organizations and are restricted to specific types of registrants. Thus, domains edu, gov, int, and mil are now considered sponsored top-level domains, much like the themed top-level domains (e.g., jobs). The entire group of domains that do not have a geographic or country designation (see country-code top-level domain) is still often referred to by the term generic TLDs.

Solar (room)
The solar was a room in many English and French medieval manor houses, great houses and castles, generally situated on an upper storey, designed as the family's private living and sleeping quarters. In such houses, the main ground-floor room was known as the Great Hall, in which all members of the household, including tenants, employees and servants, would eat. Those of highest status would be at the end, often on a raised dais, and those of lesser status further down the hall. But a need was felt for more privacy to be enjoyed by the head of the household, and, especially, by the senior women of the household. The solar was a room for their particular benefit, in which they could be alone and away from the hustle, bustle, noise and smells (including cooking smells) of the Great Hall.
The solar was generally smaller than the Great Hall, because it was not expected to accommodate so many people, but it was a room of comfort and status, and usually included a fireplace and often decorative woodwork or tapestries/wall hangings.

Singapore aims to phase out petrol and diesel vehicles by 2040. Announced by Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat in his 2021 Budget speech, this will reduce greenhouse emissions on the road. What does the future of greener public transport look like?
It could look like Shenzhen, China, the first city in the world to have a fully electric public transport system, with 22,0000 electric taxis and over 16,000 electric buses on the roads.
They are charged at depots like those owned by Shenzhen Bus Group - some are fitted with solar panels to harness electricity from sunlight in microgrids used to charge vehicles. Other depots rely on regular grid electricity to charge vehicles. 70% of the city's electricity comes from renewable sources like solar, wind and nuclear energy, says Hallie Liao, Head of International Development at Shenzhen Bus Group.
Also on trial in Shenzhen are hydrogen-powered buses. In Singapore, startup Spectronik too is conducting a trial, with a hydrogen-powered buggy. In its fuel cell, hydrogen gas is converted into electricity, releasing only heat and water as byproducts with zero tailpipe emissions. Together with an automaker, Spectronik is developing a minibus powered by their hydrogen fuel cell technology.

Singapore aims to phase out petrol and diesel vehicles by 2040. Announced by Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat in his 2021 Budget speech, this will reduce greenhouse emissions on the road. What does the future of greener public transport look like?
It could look like Shenzhen, China, the first city in the world to have a fully electric public transport system, with 22,0000 electric taxis and over 16,000 electric buses on the roads.
They are charged at depots like those owned by Shenzhen Bus Group - some are fitted with solar panels to harness electricity from sunlight in microgrids used to charge vehicles. Other depots rely on regular grid electricity to charge vehicles. 70% of the city's electricity comes from renewable sources like solar, wind and nuclear energy, says Hallie Liao, Head of International Development at Shenzhen Bus Group.
Also on trial in Shenzhen are hydrogen-powered buses. In Singapore, startup Spectronik too is conducting a trial, with a hydrogen-powered buggy. In its fuel cell, hydrogen gas is converted into electricity, releasing only heat and water as byproducts with zero tailpipe emissions. Together with an automaker, Spectronik is developing a minibus powered by their hydrogen fuel cell technology.
